Heroes: Is Love in the Cards for Claire and Sylar?

Zachary Quinto, Hayden Panettiere, HeroesWho's getting killed on the season 3 finale of Heroes? That's what seems to be on everyone's mind. Although many believe that it's going to be Nathan, seeing that the series is seemingly headed towards the "Five Years Gone" future, fans will have to stay tuned to find out when Heroes wraps up on April 27. Meanwhile, I'm contemplating on something I stumbled upon on this week's TV Guide issue. It's about an article written by Michael Logan on the episode "An Invisible Thread" and Sylar's unholy courtship of Claire.
According to series creator Tim Kring, "Sylar [Zachary Quinto] corners Claire [Hayden Panettiere] and springs a proposal on her. He has this theory that she will come to love him because he can never die and she can never die--and thus, they're destined to be together."

Most fans probably didn't see this coming - not until the season 3 episode "I Am Become Death," set four years in the future, where Sylar has reassumed his identity of Gabriel Gray and is working to suppress his homicidal hunger for the sake of his son, Noah, who lives with him and Mr. Muggles in Claire's former home in Costa Verde. Perhaps the possibility of Claire and Sylar getting together wasn't that apparent at the time given that Sylar was with Elle (Kristen Bell) during the third season's current timeline, and some just assumed the Noah is Elle's son. For some reason, however, the thought of Claire and Sylar being romantically involved has actually crossed my mind. It's creepy, weird and farfetched, but not impossible in the world of Heroes.

Maybe it's all part of a twist that would eventually throw fans off the real direction of Claire and Sylar's respective storylines. Obviously, Claire could say no to Sylar's crazy proposal, while Sylar could just be messing with Claire's head. Then again, there's also that chance that this may all turn out to be real. There's always something intriguing whenever a heroine finds love in a villain, so who knows what the future holds for these two? I guess only time will tell.
